"Применение Европейской конвенции о защите прав человека в судах России"
New Book on Implementation of the European Convention of Human Rights in
Russian Courts
The sixth volume in the series International Human Rights Protection entitled
Implementation of the European Convention of Human Rights in Russian Courts has
been published.
The book focuses on the domestic application of the European Convention of Human
Rights (the Convention) in the courts of different levels and jurisdictions
within the Russian Federation. The authors examine the national status of
international law in the Russian legal system, particularly the status of the
Convention. They identify the legal mechanisms of the Convention's
implementation in decisions of Russian courts. Legal scholars and staff
attorneys of Russian NGOs share their knowledge and experience, as well as give
advice on using the Convention in domestic civil, administrative and criminal
litigation. The book contains extracts of relevant international documents and
Russian legislation necessary for the successful implementation of the
Convention in Russian courts, including some recommendations of the Council of
Europe Committee of Ministers that have never previously been translated into
the Russian language. The book also includes a number of domestic courts'
decisions as an example of the successful application of the Convention.
